Coach Manel

My name is Manel Dulioust. I am French and have lived in Lisbon since 2022.

With a background in business and experience in entrepreneurship and marketing in France and abroad, I bring a unique perspective to my coaching.

As a mother of two teenagers who have lived in five countries across three continents, I have gained insights into various educational systems and learning methods.

My interest in education stems from personal experience. When my son faced academic difficulties, traditional methods didn't help. I found myself at a loss when my son encountered academic difficulties, despite my efforts to support him through conversations, availability, private lessons, and more. Unfortunately, these efforts had minimal impact on his performance.

This led me to train in academic coaching, focusing on identifying the root causes of learning challenges.

Once the core issue is understood, we can apply specific tools to address and overcome these challenges.

It saddens me to see students struggling with their education to the point of losing confidence, reconsidering their goals, and sometimes even giving up.

My mission is to help middle and high school students regain academic success and confidence.

"Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase."

Martin Luther King

I empower students to thrive during their educational journey.

My approach

Active listening

It is essential for students to express their needs, frustrations, and difficulties. This allows me to understand and support them better, both in terms of the method and the substance of my approach.

Kindness

Supporting anyone in difficulty requires being constructive, open, and non-judgmental. This approach encourages students to open up. The more they feel understood and accepted as they are, the more they will regain confidence and motivation.

Student involvement

From the first meeting, I engage the student in the coaching process. We establish a contract with clear objectives and an action plan. Success relies on our combined efforts; it’s a teamwork approach.

Adaptation

Everyone works differently, so I use tools specifically tailored to each student. During coaching, objectives may be revised or adjusted to better meet the student's needs. The ultimate goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for the individual.

Coming from a competitive sports background, the injury that ended up making me give up my career was a hard blow. With therapy, I was able to start building my identity around other things than just sport.
